Ben's Eclectism

Post  Laurent on Wed Dec 08, 2010 7:08 am

Ok this topic is a little blurry.

I want to talk about Ben's music in his eclectism. I just saw Fisful of Mercy in Paris last weekend and I found a Ben Harper very bluesy and very funky.

My Father's Son is a wonderful blues song, I don't hear anymore this relentless rumor which was implying that Ben Harper would make an entire acoustic blues album, but I'm still waiting (maybe when he gets older).

He played bass on four songs during the show and took part in an incredible version of Prince's So Scandelous.

And you ? When did Ben Harper's eclectism amaze you ? In which song ? Do you dream about a particular touch on a next album ? I'm listening !

Hi! This was also discussed here:

But to answer your question, when it comes to music this particular individual creates, I am a hungry soul! I will take whatever he throws at me. However I have to say that I am extremely excited about the new R7 album coming out this Spring. And who knows maybe he'll go back to IC and try some roots music. In any case though I can't wait to catch him live again soon!
